WEB DEVELOPER

Join the IFFLA web team! The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Web Developer to join our strong web team on a pro bono basis. It is a great way to join the IFFLA team and develop a diverse body of work. You will have the opportunity to take ownership over new ideas as the team updates and expands the technology offerings that support the festival.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript are required. Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and Apache are a plus.
  • Basic graphic editing is required. Knowledge of Flash and Photoshop are a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and technology are required, as well as the ability to work independently when necessary. Passion for Indian film makes the job a lot more fun!

OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is looking for an Operations Manager to work part-time out of our Festival office in Miracle Mile. This individual should have strong administrative skills and prior experience working in an office environment and managing projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to enter the film industry and in particular the film festival world, be connected to both the US and the Indian entertainment industry, and move up within a growing organization. Please note that this is a volunteer position, with a stipend.

Responsibilities:

  • Works from Festival office and handles all administrative needs including but not limited to festival correspondence, voice mail, mailings, e-fax, printing, copies, filing.
  • Prepares documents, letters and contracts for operations and any other departments on an as-needed basis.
  • Updates festival timeline and staff contact sheet.
  • Handles routine correspondence and interactions with staff, volunteers, filmmakers, sponsors and other festival personnel to ensure that proper information is disseminated and that minor problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Handles all administrative needs on the ground during the Festival, including staff badges and parking passes, necessary photocopies and printing needs, proper dissemination of internal Festival materials among staff members.
  • Works with Executive Director to authorize Festival purchases and payments.
  • Works closely with Executive Director in issuing invoices and payments and authorizing payments. Works with the Festival bookkeeper and CPA to clarify any discrepancies.
  • Manages one or more office interns/volunteers, directing daily activities, managing workloads.
  • Manages planning and logistics for bi-weekly and weekly staff meetings: Prepares agendas, coordinates food delivery, sends directions/reminders, keeps meeting notes and disseminates them to all staff post meetings.
  • Calendar management for the Executive Director and key Festival personnel.
  • Accompanies Executive Director to selected meetings and events.
  • May be responsible for regularly updating certain content on the IFFLA website.
  • Manages other assignments as needed and directed by the Executive Director.

Required Skills:

  • Must know Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint, proficient in Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Quickbooks is a plus
  • Superior organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Strong mathematical skills, comfortable with light accounting duties
  • Experience with production and operations in events
  • Professional phone presence
  • Continuous access to email while out of the office (or, willingness to check email offsite)
