The Eighth Annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) seeks narratives, documentaries, shorts, music videos, experimental, children's and animated films of any length and format for our 2010 festival taking place April 20-25 at ArcLight Hollywood, a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Los Angeles. Jury and Audience Choice prizes will be awarded for best feature, documentary and short film.

IFFLA 2009 saw rise in attendance, publicity, and support from major US studios. Over 7,000 attended the festival which screened 37 films. In addition to providing a premier showcase for their films, IFFLA also fosters access for filmmakers in attendance to distributors, agents, producers and other entertainment professionals based in Hollywood.

Previous premieres at the festival include YES MADAM, SIR (Megan Doneman),  FIRAAQ (Nandita Das), SITA SINGS THE BLUES (Nina Paley), FAKIR OF VENICE (Anand Surapur), QUICK GUN MURUGAN (Shashank Ghosh), AMAL (Richie Mehta), FROZEN (Shivajee Chandrabhushan), WATER (Deepa Mehta), LOINS OF PUNJAB PRESENTS (Manish Acharya), VANAJA (Rajnesh Domalpalli), and BLACK FRIDAY (Anurag Kashyap) among others.

How to submit your film
  • Download the Submission Form
    If you have any problems filling out the form, please contact Rani Breslow at rbreslow@indianfilmfestival.org.
  • Read carefully the requirement rules on the second page or below.
  • Type the information requested on the first page (you can type the information on your computer by clicking on each field of the form).
  • Print the submission form.
  • Sign and date the submission form.
  • Send only the first page to the address provided on the form with an NTSC or PAL DVD and a check or a US money order payable to Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. You may also pay with a credit card using our pay pal account. Please be sure to include the title of your film in the "Film Title (required)" section of pay pal.

Submission Rules
  • Films from or about India, with or without an Indian theme, made by Indian and international filmmakers, produced in 2008 or later, and films that have not had a public screening in Los Angeles are eligible to be submitted.
  • Filmmakers may submit more than one entry. Each entry must be accompanied by the entry form and the entry fee. Please note that submission fees are not refundable.
  • DVDs (preferably in NTSC format) will be accepted for submission screening.
  • DVDs must be labeled with the title, running time, format (PAL or NTSC), contact information on the DVD label.
  • Submission DVDs will not be returned.
  • The entry fee is non-refundable. We only accept checks, US money orders or credit card payments through pay pal or withoutabox.
  • Please make check or money order payable to Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, in US dollars ONLY.
  • If your film is selected, you will be required to provide 10 DVD (NTSC) screeners, a press kit with press reviews, synopsis, full credits, film stills, trailer (or film clips), posters, and a director's bio with a headshot.
  • All filmmakers will be notified via email by March 1, 2010.
