March 18, 2005 Festival to celebrate works from largest film industry in the world March 18, 2005 (Los Angeles, CA) -- Executive Director Christina Marouda of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) has announced its line up of the special gala presentations at IFFLA 2005, April 20 through April 24, 2005, at ArcLight Hollywood. Celebrating its third year, IFFLA made the announcement at a benefit screening of the US Premiere of MUZHAL-E-AZAM directed by K. Asif at the Writers Guild of America in Beverly Hills. The biggest blockbuster in Indian Cinema history, this 1960 film was recently restored in glorious color with digital sound and will be released in theaters across the U.S. on April 1. See www.mughaleazam.com for more details. The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, April 20, with the Hollywood Premiere of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's compelling drama BLACK. The Centerpiece Gala, Friday, April 22, is the Los Angeles Premiere of Anurag Kashyap's intense thriller based on true events, BLACK FRIDAY. The Closing Night Gala, Sunday, April 24, is the Los Angeles Premiere of Bharatbala's romantic adventure comedy HARI OM. The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles is the only film festival in North America dedicated entirely to presenting the cinema of India - the world's most prolific motion picture industry - by showcasing features, documentaries and short films from and about India. Ticket prices for the Opening and Closing Night Galas are $50 each and include a gala-reception following the film. The Centerpiece tickets are $11.
