RPRS Media taps former CAA agent

April 20, 2008

The founding partners of entertainment law boutique Raskin Peter Rubin &
Simon have launched RPRS Media Partners, a production, distribution and
branding consultancy serving the global entertainment community. Former
CAA agent David Tenzer was named managing director and also will serve
as a partner of the sister law firm.

Tenzer will manage RPRS Media Partners along with Arnold Peter, a
founding partner of the law firm and former executive with Universal
Studios. RPRS Media Partners will serve clients seeking business advice
and other professional services that fall outside the scope of
traditional entertainment law. Charter clients include media companies
in the U.S., India, Mexico, Canada and Germany.

The new consultancy is making its official debut as representative of
the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, a nonprofit devoted to
promoting Indian film and culture, honoring performers and business
executives and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian
diaspora. The festival, which unspools Monday and runs through Sunday at
the ArcLight Hollywood, will serve as a showcase of Indian cinema with
prizes awarded for best feature, documentary and short film.

Tenzer said that helping foreign players navigate the tricky waters of
the U.S. media scene and figure out who to be in business with is "a
growth theme" of RPRS and that he has for some time envisioned joining a
company modeled, for example, on the strategic services that John Sloss
provides with his company, Cinetic. Tenzer emphasized that RPRS will
provide complementary services to what talent agents and managers do but
won't be in the representational business.

An entertainment lawyer, business consultant and content producer,
Tenzer at various times in his 20-year career at CAA headed television
business affairs, helped establish the agency's international TV
business and interacted with the agency's new-media, indie film and
corporate marketing departments. As a TV packaging agent, Tenzer was
responsible for selling numerous scripted series, reality shows, movies
and specials. Before joining Raskin, he headed media partnerships for
Internet startup Revver.

"My new partners at Raskin Peter are some of the most respected
attorneys in the entertainment industry," Tenzer said. "The media
business in the U.S. and around the world is in a state of enormous
flux. Others refer to it as challenged, but we see a dynamic landscape
with wonderful opportunities for our clients."

Raskin Peter managing partner Gary Raskin added that the new consultancy
was committed to bringing "strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial
approach" to clients.
