The Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) will co-sponsor the Industry Leadership Award presented by the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). The Industry Leadership Award was created to recognize the achievements of entertainment industry executives who have surmounted challenges to make Indian entertainment content a global phenomenon.
The Industry Leadership Award was created to recognize the achievements of entertainment industry executives who have surmounted challenges to make Indian entertainment content a global phenomenon. This year we honor two individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership within the Indian entertainment community. Sharing the 2008 Industry Leadership Award are Andy Bird, Chairman, Walt Disney International and Timmy S. Kandhari, Leader of the Entertainment and Media Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers India.

| Andy Bird, as chairman of Walt Disney International, has been instrumental in Disney’s entry into the Indian market through its iconic Disney brands including a joint-venture with ESPN STAR Sport, the acquisition of Hungama TV, and a 32.1% equity stake in UTV Software Communications Limited. Disney distributes its branded programs such as “High School Musical,” “Hannah Montana” and “That’s So Raven” on the Disney and Toon Disney Channels in India. Disney franchise Cheetah Girls are currently filming their third feature length film in India. In 2007, Mr. Bird helped develop a joint venture between Disney and Yash Raj Films Studios on a series of computer-animated films for Indian audiences, and featuring Indian actors. The first film, ROADSIDE ROMEO is set for release in 2008.

| Timmy Kandhari is an Executive Director in the Financial Advisory Service Practice and Leader of the Entertainment and Media Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers India. PwC’s leadership position as advisors and consultants to some of the biggest corporate transactions in the history of the Indian entertainment industry is undisputed. Mr. Kandhari leads the team that produces the highly influential Indian Entertainment Industry Report as part of the FRAMES annual conference in Mumbai, India. This report is the definitive authority on the performance of the Indian entertainment business in all industry sectors and is the most reliable source for company analysts and the business press. |

The Industry Leadership Award is presented by the Los Angeles based leading entertainment law boutique Raskin Peter Rubin & Simon a full service entertainment industry law firm with global clients in the United States and India.
